The Assistant Director will participate in the planning, coordination and implementation of strategy and tactics that enable the Colleges to recruit and enroll intellectually-curious students. The Assistant Director's responsibilities will include territory management (travel, correspondence and communication with prospective students and secondary school personnel), interviewing prospective, hosting on-campus events, management of student assistants, and prospective student application review. Directed by the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director will oversee two initiatives designed to support the institution's enrollment goals. Evenings and weekend work are frequently required at various times throughout the year.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage a recruitment territory including travel (6-8 weeks in the fall and 2-5 weeks in the spring), school relations, communication with prospective students, interviews, application review, and other activities as assigned.
  • Evaluation of prospective student applications and making thoughtful recommendations for admission to the Colleges.
  • Establish personalized communication, using all channels, with prospective students, school counselors, and community-based organizations.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of, sensitivity to, and empathy for the unique social, cultural, and economic circumstances of students.
  • Understand and interpret data that are a part of the admission and financial aid processes including: applications for admissions, accepted student questionnaires, enrollment planning data, admissions charts, and tables, needs assessment documents.
  • Articulate the Colleges' educational philosophy and mission in a manner that resonates with prospective students and families
  • Participate in regional college admissions associations and represent the Colleges at events and presentations.
  • Liaise with various student organizations, clubs, and groups as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Other Information:

This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible, administrative exempt position. This position description is not all-inclusive as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned. Salary: $63,426.09
