Job Description:

Join the University of Florida as an Assistant Director of Admissions! Lead the Office of Admissions' Applicant Services team and oversee application processing for undergraduate, graduate, post-baccalaureate, professional, certificate, and special academic programs. In this key leadership role, you will manage admissions operations, foster strong partnerships across campus, and ensure a seamless experience for prospective students.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Admissions Operations

  • Oversee application processing for undergraduate, graduate, professional, post-baccalaureate, and certificate programs.
  • Manage application workflows, deadlines, document processing, and departmental referrals.
  • Conduct application reviews and support admissions policy development and implementation.
  • Monitor applicant communications and ensure accurate processing across admissions systems.

Systems & Compliance

  • Troubleshoot and resolve data and system issues within Slate and Campus Solutions.
  • Maintain expertise in admissions requirements, residency classifications, and immigration documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies, FERPA, and state regulations.

Staff Leadership & Management

  • Supervise and support a large team of full-time staff members and student assistants. 
  • Develop and deliver training programs for admissions processes and procedures.
  • Manage hiring, scheduling, time approval, performance evaluations, and goal setting.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy standards and operational expectations.

Student & Stakeholder Support

  • Serve as a resource for applicants, families, faculty, staff, and campus partners.
  • Resolve escalated application processing issues and provide guidance on admissions policies.
  • Foster a culture of exceptional customer service and professional development.

Recruitment & Application Review

  • Participate in the holistic review of freshman applications.
  • Deliver admissions presentations and support on-campus recruitment events.
  • Operate a state vehicle in support of recruitment activities.

Strategic Planning & Special Projects

  • Contribute to departmental planning, goal setting, and resource allocation.
  • Support operational improvement initiatives and special projects.
  • Collaborate with leadership to advance admissions and enrollment goals.
Expected Salary:

$65,000 annually

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred:
  • Successful supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of University of Florida and State University System policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with customer service and public relations.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work and training assignments.
  • Experience with Slate and/or PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
