Job Summary/Basic Function
The Assistant Director (AD) of Accessibility and Advocacy Resource Office (AARO) & Lead Victim Advocate is charged with identifying and addressing student needs by providing services to aid students who have experienced violence, including but not limited to sexual violence, relationship violence, harassment, and stalking. Indiana State Universitys Lead Victim Advocate is a confidential resource that oversees the continuum of care for students. They manage the volunteer victim advocates, which will include some on-call responsibilities. The AD creates and collaborates sexual and gender violence prevention programming, including bystander intervention.
The Assistant Director will also provide support to AARO related to assisting students with disabilities and addressing accessibility on campus. They will review accommodation requests and work one-on-one with students to assist in success in the classroom experience as well as life on campus. The AD will participate in New Student Orientation discussing AARO services with new students and family members.
Specific Responsibilities Required Relevant Education & Experience
Masters Degree completed by the first day of employment; Required Minimum Relevant Work Experience: 1-2 years (may include GA work)

Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as lead victim advocate for students, including on-call responsibilities. Provide appropriate guidance, resources, and options to students, including support during sexual assault forensic exams (SAFE), campus Title IX meeting, criminal investigation interviews, as requested. Ensures victim advocate program operates using best practices and engages with on-going training and education. Manage cases via Maxient.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in sexual violence prevention and response, which may include prevention education programming, coalition building, policy analysis, data collection, social marketing, bystander intervention, and male involvement. Collaborate with other offices, such as Title IX, and Student Counseling Center. Serve as a member of any campus or community committee or task force charged with sexual violence reduction measures, including the Vigo County Sexual Assault Response Team.

Oversight for volunteer victim advocate program. Supervise on-call volunteer victim advocate program. Conduct ongoing recruitment and training of volunteers. Manage on-call scheduling rotation for volunteer advocates.

Review, evaluate, and approve accommodation applications and documentation, where necessary. Assist in testing administration responsibilities. Represent the Office in absence of the Director.
