This position follows am in-person schedule with an expectation of 5 days per week on-site in Hanover, NH.

To foster student engagement, belonging, and programming development within Geisel's degree programs. To oversee student government elections, oversee national affinity student groups, support student organization development, oversee budgets and documents, and collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to create inclusive, meaningful experiences. To lead strategic initiatives to assess and enhance student programming and community-building efforts.

Description Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 3-5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years relevant experience in higher education administration, student life, student programming or event management or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, problem solve, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong operational and project management skills.
  • Flexibility in work hours when needed for successful execution of events or other programming activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Understanding of the unique needs and challenges of health professions students in a graduate and medical school setting.
  • Experience with financial management and budgeting.
  • Experience in leading the development of policies and procedures.
  • Experience guiding projects that improve processes and systems.

Key Accountabilities

Description

Student Engagement & Belonging

  • Develop and disseminate materials and supplies to promote a healthy student community.
  • Plan and execute student engagement activities to promote the One Geisel community while also honoring program differences. When appropriate, plan and execute program-specific activities.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to develop comprehensive student programming strategies that meet evolving needs and interests.
  • Facilitate student involvement in extracurricular and co-curricular activities.
  • Lead annual student leadership transitions and serve as a clearinghouse for review and approval of student leaders.
  • Advise student leaders and oversee leadership programming and training for students in key roles.
  • Supervise student-led event logistics, communications, vendor relationships, budgets and timelines effectively.
  • Serve as a liaison to student leadership and affinity groups to strengthen communication and advocacy efforts.
  • Recruit, train, and support student life ambassadors for continuous quality improvement projects.
  • Partner with other Geisel and Dartmouth offices to ensure programming reflects diverse voices and experiences.

Communication and Strategic Development

  • Assess student engagement and wellbeing outcomes to guide program improvement and strategic planning.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data related to student engagement trends, needs, and program outcomes to inform decision-making.
  • Identify emerging student needs and develop new initiatives aligned with institutional priorities.
  • Support reporting and accreditation activities related to student experience.
  • Create experiences that reflect institutional pride, student achievement, and the culture of care within the school.
  • Create and maintain Geisel student event calendar efforts.
  • Create and maintain Student Life App, Student Life Newsletter and evaluate needs to adjust with trends.
