Job description:
Are you passionate about early childhood education and helping young children thrive? We are seeking a caring, organized, and dedicated Infant/Toddler Assistant Director to support the daily operations of our childcare program and help lead our team of teachers.
Position Overview:
The Infant/Toddler Assistant Director works closely with the Director to ensure a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 2 years. This role includes supporting staff, maintaining licensing standards, communicating with families, and helping oversee the daily classroom operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director with the daily management of the infant and toddler program
- Support, mentor, and guide teaching staff
- Ensure classrooms follow licensing regulations and center policies
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate environment
- Communicate effectively with parents and families
- Assist with scheduling, staff coverage, and classroom support as needed
- Help plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
Qualifications:
- Experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare setting
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood development and licensing regulations
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- CDA, FCCPC, or Early Childhood Education coursework required.
