Assist in teaching and assessment of the preclinical medical students in their 1st and 2nd years in the Doctoring Program:
Patient-centered and doctor-centered interviewing techniques.
Physical examination skills, including GYN, male genital exams.
Oral and written communication skills.
Critical thinking/clinically reasoning skills.
Take the lead on the Ultrasound (US) skills curriculum within the Doctoring Course:
Teach the teacher.
Teaching students.
Develop/assess the US curriculum:
Aorta.
Lung.
FAST exam.
MSK.
Assist in evaluating medical students based on a competency (focusing on learner performance) driven framework in the following areas:
Interpersonal and Communication skills.
Professionalism.
History taking.
Physical Exam.
Review of System.
Problem-Based Learning and Improvement Application.
Assist in the implementation of the AAMC's Entrustable Professional Activities (EPA) based on multiple skills and trustworthiness in the following areas:
Performing a History and Physical Exam.
Documentation of History and Physical Findings.
Development of a Differential Dx.
Oral Presentations.
Communication Skills in Documentation of the SP Encounter.
Initiate scholarly medical education research.
Provide formative or summative feedback to students in standardized clinical encounters and assist faculty in this duty.
Assist in the preparation, training and assessment of faculty.
Assist in the grading of the OSCE (Objective Standardized Clinical Exam), mini OSCE and OSTE (Objective Standardized
Teaching Evaluations/Exercises) of faculty.
Participate in evaluations of the course, trainings and other meetings.
Assist in the ongoing planning, evaluation and revision of course/curriculum.
Participate in other assigned duties: Transitions Block, PPD Courses 1-4, OSCE year 3-4 and clerkship- OSCE as assigned.
Work with associate specialist (CIS team) to train standardized patients (to portray their role correctly and consistently.)
Participate in scholarly activity within the Doctoring Program.
Other duties as assigned.
