As our Permanent Assistant Controller, you will be a crucial part of our finance team, playing a vital role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who is ready to manage and improve our financial processes. Responsibilities

As a Permanent Assistant Controller, you will be tasked with a range of responsibilities that are pivotal to the smooth running of our financial operations. These include but are not limited to:

1. Assisting the Controller in managing all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
3. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Researching technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Supporting month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Additional controller duties as necessary.

Qualifications

To be considered for the role of Permanent Assistant Controller, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Proven work experience as an Assistant Controller or other similar role for a minimum of 5 years.
3. Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred.
5. Hands-on experience with accounting software.
6. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
7. Familiarity with construction accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar.
8. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
9. Excellent accounting and financial skills along with the ability to analyze figures and knowledge of accounting principles.
10. Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
11. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
12. Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus.
