    Description

    About the Role

    Our client is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee the firm's accounting operations and financial reporting across multiple entities. This role will own the month-end close process, maintain the integrity of the general ledger, support regulatory reporting, and partner with leadership to improve accounting processes as the firm continues to grow.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
    • Manage accounts payable, employee expenses, and corporate credit card activity
    • Prepare clearing entries and reconcile trading activity to the general ledger
    • Perform intercompany allocations and eliminations across multiple entities
    • Support payroll accounting, partner capital accounting, and K-1 schedules
    • Assist with daily net capital calculations, FOCUS reporting, and other regulatory filings
    • Prepare lender reporting, management reports, budgets, and forecasts
    • Coordinate annual audits and maintain strong internal controls
    • Improve accounting processes and leverage technology to increase efficiency
    • Partner with trading, operations, and leadership to resolve accounting issues and support business initiatives

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
    • 3+ years of accounting experience within financial services
    • Broker-dealer, proprietary trading, or capital markets experience preferred
    • Knowledge of multi-entity accounting and partnership structures
    • Familiarity with net capital calculations, FOCUS reporting, and broker-dealer regulations is a plus
    • Experience with NetSuite preferred; Numeric, Ramp, or Rippling is a plus
    • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
    • Highly organized with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
