Assistant Corporate Controller Location: Near Albany, NY Salary Range: $95,000 - $130,000 Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview Our rapidly growing client is adding a Assistant Controller to support its expanding finance team. This is a newly created, highly visible role designed to help scale accounting and financial operations as the business continues to grow. Working closely with a dynamic, Big 4-trained CFO and an experienced Corporate Controller, this individual will take ownership of key accounting and analytical responsibilities while identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and overall financial performance. What You'll Do Accounting & Financial AnalysisPerform core accounting functions with a strong foundation in debits and credits Analyze P&L statements, variances, and operational performance metrics Support month-end close processes and financial reporting activities Assist with general ledger analysis, reconciliations, and financial accuracy Operational Finance SupportPartner with Divisional Controllers supporting multiple business units and cost centers Work cross-functionally with sales, commercial, and operations teams Provide insight into business performance and identify opportunities for improvement Support decision-making through data analysis and financial modeling Projects & Process ImprovementTake initiative on special projects to improve financial processes and reporting Help streamline workflows and identify efficiencies across accounting and finance Support ongoing system and reporting enhancements Systems & TechnologyWork with financial systems including Epicor, SQL databases, and reporting tools Leverage data tools such as Power BI (or similar) to support reporting and analysis Contribute to improving reporting capabilities and data accessibility Team StructureReports into senior finance leadership Works alongside a tenured Corporate Controller and FP&A Manager Collaborates with multiple Divisional Controllers across business units Individual contributor role with strong cross-functional exposure
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting required 4-8 years of accounting or finance experience Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals (debits/credits required) Experience with financial analysis, variance analysis, and P&L reporting Preferred:Public accounting background (Big 4 or regional firm a plus) CPA and/or MBA Experience with ERP systems (Epicor or similar) Exposure to SQL, Power BI, or data/reporting tools Key Skills & AttributesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities Proactive, 'roll-up-your-sleeves' mindset Interest in process improvement and operational efficiency Tech-savvy with a curiosity for leveraging systems and data Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams Strong communication skills and business acumen
