Founded in 1909 and affiliated with the Episcopal Church, The Bishop’s School is an independent, all gender college-preparatory school for 800 students in grades six through twelve. The School is located on a historic campus in the heart of La Jolla, just 10 miles north of downtown San Diego. With a student-teacher ratio of approximately 9 to 1, Bishop’s is known for academic, artistic, and athletic excellence while celebrating character development, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. Last year’s applicant pool drew from 72 zip codes and 168 middle and high schools throughout San Diego County and beyond. Position Summary:
The Bishop’s School is seeking qualified Assistant Coaches for Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Middle School teams. Available fall coaching opportunities include football, field hockey, cross country, tennis, golf, volleyball, and water polo. Candidates are encouraged to visit the Bishop’s Athletics website for the most up-to-date information about each program.
The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the School’s athletic program for their assigned sport. Responsibilities include assisting with practices and competitions, providing individual and team instruction, supporting the academic and personal growth of student-athletes, and fostering a positive and respectful team culture.
Bishop’s coaches help student-athletes prepare for competition, develop their skills, and perform their best individually and as part of a team while upholding the School’s mission and values.

The anticipated base compensation for this position is $20-$35 per hour based on experience.
