Job Title: Assistant Coach
Department: National Team Development Program, located in Plymouth, Mich.
Reports To: Head Coach, National Team Development Program
Basic Function: Assist in development and training of elite-level athletes within USA Hockeyxe2x80x99s National Team Development Program.
Responsibilities:
Assist in planning, design and execution of both on- and off-ice practices and skill sessions in conjunction with head coach.
Execute in-game coaching duties as assigned by head coach.
Assist head coach in coordinating video scouting (breakdown and analysis), including analysis of game film for both NTDP teams and opponents
Assist in maintaining and managing team video equipment and database, including set-up, breakdown and equipment maintenance
Assist head coach in maintaining team statistics and analytics
Assist in management of player development plans
Assist Sports Science staff with training when necessary
Assist in oversight of academic progress in coordination with director of student/athlete services as assigned by head coach
Oversee study hall sessions as assigned by the head coach
Coordinate travel arrangements, including room lists, meal planning and team itinerary
Oversight of locker room, team meetings, dress code, meals and curfew
Travel as required, including with teams and for player evaluation purposes.
Assist Player Personnel department with evaluation where necessary
Other responsibilities to include work at USA Hockey summer training programs in Plymouth and USA Hockey Festivals
Qualifications:
Required
xe2x80xa2 Experience in junior, college or professional coaching, and/or playing experience at the college/pro level
xe2x80xa2 Computer literate, including experience with Microsoft Office suite.
xe2x80xa2 Experience with video editing equipment and software, preferably XOS systems.
Desired
xe2x80xa2 Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree preferred
Salary: Commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position with an excellent benefit package that includes health, dental, vision, 75 hours vacation time, personal time, sick time, and 403B with 4% match after six months.
