Description

Sussex County Community College is currently recruiting for part time Assistant Men's Soccer Coach. The to assist in the coordination, supervision, and development of the Men's Soccer program. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to promote student-athlete success both on and off the field by fostering physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and academic achievement. Responsibilities include assisting with the planning and implementation of training sessions, game preparation, recruiting, player development, and the overall operation of the soccer program.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with practices, competitions, and team travel.
  • Help recruit and retain qualified student-athletes in accordance with NJCAA and Sussex County Community College policies.
  • Monitor student-athlete academic progress and support the College's commitment to student success.
  • Organize and supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team activities.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Assist with equipment management, scheduling, and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing situations while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Support the mission and values of Sussex County Community College.
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes.

The successful candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and student-centered athletic environment. A passion for teaching the game, developing student-athletes, and emphasizing the importance of education is essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous playing and/or coaching experience in soccer preferred.
  • Knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and fundamentals required.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, staff, and community members.
  • Valid driver's license required.
