SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Women's Basketball Graduate Assistant is responsible for assisting the coaching staff, primarily with recruiting, making travel arrangements & itineraries, assisting with practices, fundraising, promotional activities, and other related assigned responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist the Head Coach and Assistant Coach in planning and executing daily practices.
- Provide on-court instruction during team practices, skill development sessions, and warmups.
- Contribute to game planning, including opponent scouting reports and film analysis.
- Offer individual feedback and mentorship to student-athletes to support their athletic and personal development.
- Support in creating player development plans for guards, forwards, or post players.
- Participate in coaches' meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.
- Attend all team functions, including games (home and away), practices, workouts, and team meetings.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Education:
- (MINIMUM REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree
- PREFERRED: None
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSE
- First Aid/CPR certification (must be active 60 withing 60days of employment)
- Valid Driver's License
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- MINIUM REQUIREMENT: Experience playing or coaching basketball
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
- Some knowledge of collegiate basketball
- Be able to adapt to atmospheres
- Be eager to learn and teach
