The Department of Occupational Therapy at Roosevelt University at Schaumburg invites applicants for the position of Assistant Clinical Practice Professor. Position responsibilities include teaching as assigned by the Director, advising and mentoring students, institutional and community service, research or other scholarly activity appropriate for a non-tenure track position.

The entry-level occupational therapy masters degree program has applied for accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). The programs design is intended to maximize accessibility to students and will be offered in a low residency hybrid format.

This is a full-time, hybrid position with an expectation of three days per week on campus.

The salary range for this position is $92,000-$94,000

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • The successful candidate must possess superior clinical skills, demonstrate effective communication skills as well as a commitment to inter-professional practice and education, a record of excellence in experiential and/or immersive teaching, including application-based and simulation-based instruction and interest in engaging in College and University faculty governance.
  • The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to professional collaboration and be dedicated to the core values of University and College including diversity and inclusivity, enlightenment and awareness, integrity and civility, adaptability and transformation, and knowledge and wisdom.
  • To be hired as an Assistant Clinical Practice Professor, a candidate must have (1) a Masters degree or above in Occupational Therapy (2) a doctorate (PhD or clinical doctorate) in a related field (3) a minimum of three years of clinical practice experience, and (4) demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, service and scholarly work.

Years of Experience Required 3 Certification/Licensure Required

Candidates must possess or be eligible for Occupational Therapist licensure in the State of Illinois; Must have current NBCOT certification.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral degree and three years experience as a registered Occupational Therapist.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to experience in clinical practice, it is preferred that candidates also possess at least one to two years experience teaching in a Masters or Doctoral Occupational Therapy program; experience in curricular assessment; and a record of scholarly productivity in clinical or pedagogical research.

Demonstrated expertise in adult/geriatric rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, and/or hand therapy, as well as occupational therapy practice and education, is highly desirable.

Experience teaching in hybrid, blended, or low-residency delivery models, including synchronous online instruction; and familiarity with ACOTE standards and outcomes-based curriculum design.

Basic office equipment (e.g., laptop computer, copier/ multi-function device, fax and telephone).
