    Description

    The Assistant Buyer is responsible for procurement functions directly associated with the company''s needs for raw materials and services to ensure continuity of supply that supports operational demand.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Completes purchase requisition orders and amendments as necessary in line with needs.
    • Confers with departments regarding quantity and quality of merchandise, and delivery date as it relates to requisition orders.
    • Issues request for quotes (RFQs), negotiates contracts, and establishes blanket orders that may include consignment stock and services.
    • Recommends alternate suppliers where a savings in cost or improved delivery will result for all departments.
    • Maintains the open purchase order report including acknowledgments, due date, receive date and quantity discrepancies. Traces delinquent arrivals from purchase orders.
    • Works with receiving team to ensure purchase orders are received on time. Provides missing paperwork as needed. Coordinate''s supplier returns with receiving, as necessary.
    • Partners with quality personnel to solve status of material quarantined or out of specification.
    • Works with accounts payable to resolve receipt challenges. Review invoices and associate documentation to authorize payment.
    • Maintains accurate item part and vendor information in ERP software.
    • Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with U.S. laws.
    • Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education, Qualifications and Skills:

    • 1+ years previous purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
    • Medical Device experience preferred.
    • Highly organized, ability to work within a team and or as individual contributor, in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, etc.
