Position Title: Boys Soccer Assistant Coach Reports To: Head Coach/Director of Athletics Supervises: Students Season: Fall
Position Summary The assistant coach supports the head coach in running the athletic program in line with school district policies and IHSA regulations. They help implement training, practices, and game plans while mentoring student-athletes in teamwork, sportsmanship, and development. Responsibilities include ensuring eligibility compliance, assisting with recruitment, and maintaining clear communication. The role also involves supporting administrative tasks, upholding school policies, and serving as a positive role model.
Qualifications:
Previous experience preferred, but not required.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills. Strong work ethic and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work positively and productively with adults and student participants.
Expected Student Contact Beyond Teaching Contract: Practice and Games 6 days per week.
Expected Weekend and Holiday Competitions/Performances/Events/Travel: Varies by Sport
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, talk, demonstrate, and listen. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, such as athletic equipment.
