GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The Pitching Coach of the Athletic Department is responsible for the complete oversight, development, and coaching of pitchers within a nationally competitive NCAA Division I program. DBU Baseball competes as a Pac-12 affiliate. The coach will administer NCAA Division I coaching, recruiting, pitcher development, and competitive pitching strategy for the program
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Master's degree preferred
- Possesses skills commensurate with the job
- Experience at the advanced level of college coaching
- Familiar with NCAA Division I bylaws
- Familiarity with data-driven pitching analytics and modern player development tools preferred
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pitching Development & Strategy
- Design and implement a comprehensive pitching development program encompassing mechanics, command, pitch mix, and mental performance
- Oversee the daily management of the pitching staff, including starters and bullpen planning in coordination with the Head Coach
- Utilize video analysis and data platforms (e.g., Trackman, Rapsodo, or equivalent) to evaluate and improve pitcher performance
- Develop individualized pitcher plans aligned with in-season and off-season goals
- Prepare advance scouting reports on opposing lineups to inform pitching strategy
- Monitor pitcher workloads and arm health in partnership with sports medicine staff
Recruiting
- Actively identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes consistent with DBU's academic, athletic, and character standards
- Build and maintain a recruiting pipeline through relationships with high school coaches, showcases, and national platforms
- Assist in managing the recruiting budget and coordinating campus visits
- Evaluate players for scholarship decisions in collaboration with the Head Coach and Director of Athletics
- Ensure all recruiting activities comply with NCAA Division I and Pac-12 regulations
Program & Administrative
- Aid in the development and execution of summer baseball camps, with a primary focus on pitching instruction
- Assist with player placement in summer collegiate leagues
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of pitching areas and bullpen facilities
- Administer and maintain accurate practice logs and compliance documentation
- Assist with the program's discipleship and character formation initiatives
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach
WORK SCHEDULE:
A minimum of 40 hours per week or more is necessary to meet the requirements of the program. A typical workweek is expected in the 50 to 60 hour range. Travel is required throughout the year for games and recruiting.
