Job Summary
The Part Time Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the athletic program, helping to develop student-athletes both on and off the field/court. This role focuses on teaching sport-specific skills, promoting academic success, fostering good sportsmanship, and contributing to a positive team culture while ensuring compliance with institutional and conference policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices, workouts, and competitions.
- Teach and develop individual and team skills, strategies, and fundamentals.
- Support the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes.
- Monitor student-athletes academic progress and encourage academic success.
- Help organize team travel, equipment, uniforms, and game-day operations.
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and personal responsibility.
- Assist with scouting opponents and preparing game plans.
- Maintain compliance with college, conference, and governing body rules and regulations.
- Build positive relationships with student-athletes, staff, faculty, and the community.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Qualifications
- Degree may be required
- Previous coaching or competitive playing experience in the sport.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to mentor and motivate diverse student-athletes.
- Knowledge of recruiting practices and collegiate athletic regulations.
- Valid drivers license and the ability to travel as needed.
- CPR, First Aid, and other required certifications preferred or obtainable upon hire.

- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the athletic schedule.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate sport-specific techniques.
- Stand, walk, run, lift equipment (up to 50 pounds), and work outdoors or in athletic facilities for extended periods.
- Ability to travel with the team for competitions and recruiting.
Employment will require a criminal background check at college expense. Preference is given to Missouri residents.

- Faculty are not eligible for vacation due to built-in contractual time off but have access to 2 personal days/year.
