Western Texas College | 6200 College Avenue | Snyder, Texas 79549 | 325- 573-8511 | wtc.edu Revised 1/15/2026 Title: Assistant Baseball Coach Reports to: Head Baseball Coach Terms: Full Time, 10 Months Salary: $23,9 30 Plus Benefits Position Summary The Assistant Baseball Coach supports the leadership, coaching, and administrative functions of the College's intercollegiate baseball program, contributing to student- athlete success, regulatory compliance, and competitive performance. This position assists with recruiting and developing student- athletes, organizing practices and competitions, managing program operations, and supporting compliance with institutional priorities and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) requirements. The Assistant Baseball Coach collaborates with the Head Baseball Coach, Athletic Director, and others across the College to promote student- athlete academic achievement, retention, and personal development while fostering a culture of sportsmanship, discip line, and institutional pride. Essential Functions Baseball Program Support • Assists the Head Baseball Coach in providing leadership and direction for the intercollegiate baseball program. • Supports a culture emphasizing academic achievement, sportsmanship, and student development. • Assists with recruitment and retention of student- athletes aligned with institutional enrollment priorities. • Supports student -athlete development and competitive success while promoting student -athlete well -being and safety. • Provides coaching and technical instruction in collegiate baseball skills and performance. • Assists with coordinating practice schedules, training activities, and competition preparation. • Supervises student workers and assists with team operations as assigned. Western Texas College | 6200 College Avenue | Snyder, Texas 79549 | 325- 573-8511 | wtc.edu Revised 1/15/2026 Athletic Operations and Compliance • Assists in ensuring compliance with institutional, NJCAA, and regional conference rules and regulations. • Supports monitoring of student- athlete eligibility and participation requirements. • Assists with coordinating game schedules and travel logistics. • Helps oversee team travel arrangements including transportation, lodging, and meals. • Maintains program records including eligibility documentation, statistics, and competition results. • Assists with inventory, maintenance, and use of baseball equipment and college -owned assets. • Promotes safe practices related to baseball training and competition. Program Administration • Assists the Head Baseball Coach and Athletic Director with program planning and evaluation. • Supports budget management, purchasing, and scholarship administration within established guidelines. • Assists with fundraising initiatives and program development activities. • Coordinates use of practice facilities and baseball field as assigned. • Supports operational procedures that promote effective baseball program management. • Assists with hosting collegiate games, camps, clinics, and related events. Student -Athlete Support and Success • Promotes academic success, persistence, and completion of student- athletes. • Monitors academic progress, attendance, and team expectations. • Collaborates with others across the College to promote student success. • Supports leadership development and character development opportunities. • Encourages positive representation of the College through sportsmanship and conduct. • Promotes student -athlete health, safety, and wellness. Community Relations and Program Development • Promotes the baseball program through community engagement and outreach. • Assists with developing relationships with high schools, summer league programs, travel ball organizations, and recruitment networks. • Represents the College at games, recruiting events, and related functions. • Supports fundraising and sponsorship development activities. • Encourages participation in community service activities. Maintains professional knowledge of baseball coaching techniques and association regulations. Adheres to institutional, conference, and association policies. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Experience in baseball coaching or related student -athlete development and recruitment roles. • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics operations and compliance requirements. • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel. • Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record. Total Compensation & Benefits: Western Texas College offers a highly competitive total compensation package designed to provide financial stability, professional growth, and quality of life. Compensation includes: • Salary: $23,930 (10 -month appointment) • College- provided housing with utilities included (estimated value: $9,000 -$12,000 annually) • College- paid employee paid medical insurance (estimated value: $6,000 -$10,000 annually) • Two months off during summer • Two weeks off during winter break This position offers a highly competitive total compensation package with an estimated annual value of $38,930 - $45,930, inclusive of salary, institution -provided housing, and comprehensive medical insurance.
