Example of Duties Coaching duties assigned by the head baseball coach, but may include assisting with recruitment, building reserve team, practices, games, scheduling, compliance, and/or advisement and supervision of student athletes. Attend special meetings called by the head coach, athletic director, outdoor complex director or the president. Must be capable of effectively motivating and supervising students. Must maintain a professional relationship with students and peers. Other duties as assigned by the head baseball coach, outdoor complex director, athletic director, or appropriate supervisory personnel.

Duties of the Outdoor Complex: Outdoor Complex duties are assigned by the Outdoor Complex Director assists outdoor complex director with planning, recruiting events, and coordination of all activities, program and staff in the outdoor complex. Coordinates special events and SFCC athletic events. Prepares fields for events, including setting up and field maintenance, setting up, removing and storing equipment and supervises home athletic events and events at the outdoor complex. Assists with scheduling outside events to rent and use the outdoor complex. Assist student workers and maintain knowledge of NJCAA, MCCAC and State Fair Community College rules, reporting, policies and regulations. Assist with Booster Club. Promote SFCC athletics within the community by being active in community groups and events. Assumes the Outdoor Complex Director responsibilities in his/her absence. Attend meetings with or in place of the Outdoor Complex Director. Performs other duties as assigned.

Duties of the Assistant Baseball Coach:

Reports to: Head Baseball Coach and Outdoor Complex Director

Department: Athletics

Essential Job Functions:

  • Build a Reserve Baseball Team
  • Schedule, post and keep office hours as required by college policy.
  • Assist with advising student-athletes.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Must be capable of effectively motivation and supervising students.
  • Must maintain a professional relationship with students and peers.
  • Coaching duties assigned by the head baseball coach.
  • Recruits' events to outdoor complex
  • Coordinates and plans activities for outdoor complex
  • A willingness to take on additional responsibility and work collaboratively, both within the unit and campus wide
  • Other duties as deemed necessary for the function of the college.

Required Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required. Master's Degree preferred,
  • Collegiate baseball playing experience and/or collegiate coaching experience preferred. Valid driver's license with Class E passenger endorsement. And ability to meet college's insurance requirements for driving college vehicles.
  • Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, as well as demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, train, and develop student-athletes

Skills:

  • Ability to inspire and motivate others to perform at high levels.
  • Ability to teach and advise student-athletes throughout season.
  • A willingness to take on additional responsibility and work collaboratively
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to interact verbally in person, over the telephone, and via written and electronic media.
  • Ability to move about campus and other locations.
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Vacation Accrual- Full-time Employees:
