Mines is excited to announce the opening of a new position in the Residence Life division of Student Life!The Housing Assignments & Retention Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of housing assignments, contracts, and marketing efforts for undergraduates and graduate students in apartment style communities. In this integral role, you will focus on process implementation and coordination and retention efforts through internal marketing strategies and management of the growing on-campus housing inventory, including newly added second-year, upper-class, and graduate housing. You'll serve as a critical student service and retention position and meets regularly with students and other stakeholders who are in need of support and education around Residence Life processes.This role needs a strong communicator - you'll be talking to students, parents, coworkers, and partners. We need someone who thrives in ever-evolving situations and who wants to build something amazing to support our students. Primary Responsibilities
Housing Assignments:
• Manage applications, contracts, and placements for second-, third-, and fourth-year undergraduates, and graduate students.
• Oversee housing assignment processes for upper-class and graduate-specific housing options, ensuring equitable and efficient placements.
• Conduct data analysis and reporting of occupancy trends among upper-class and graduate populations.
• Create reports, analyze data, and test system functionality.
• Moderate housing conflicts and independently interpret policies.
• Work with Disability Support Services to manage apartment accommodations.
Billing and Data Management:
• Coordinate rent and utilities billing for Mines Park apartments and upper-class housing in collaboration with assigned partners.
• Collaborate with campus partners to ensure accurate and timely processing of housing charges.
• Establish and maintain building processes with internal stakeholders for financial reporting, such as the Bursar.
Retention and Internal Marketing:
• Develop marketing strategies aimed at retaining upper-class students in on-campus housing.
• Create targeted communication campaigns to showcase housing benefits for sophomores, juniors, and graduate students.
• Organize informational events and outreach efforts for students to support the upper-class and graduate housing experience.
• Creation of a marketing plan, including collaboration with Mines Public Relations.
Collaboration and Process Improvement:
• Partner with academic and student services departments to address the unique needs of upper-class and graduate students.
• Assess and refine housing processes to ensure a well-communicated user-friendly and supportive experience.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience working within a higher education setting; understanding of student services
• Demonstrated ability to relate to, and advocate for individuals and groups with widely varying backgrounds, perspectives, education, and skills
• Organizational skills with a high attention to detail
• Demonstrated communication skills both spoken and written, inclusive of awareness of tone and propriety.
• Experience in learning new software programs quickly and
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience within university housing operations, assignments, marketing, residence life
• Past or current experience using StarRez housing management system, including PortalX
• Experience using SQL/database query language
• Banner, MS Office suite, Workday Enterprise Management experience
• WordPress website management experience
• Experience with social media from a marketing and communication perspective
• Experience working with apartment contracts and yearly processes
• Understanding of a university's housing, and annual assignments, and operations cycle
Salary and Benefits
$58,000 - $63,000
