Assumes responsibility for managing the offices of Athletics Academic Services and Athletics Compliance in the promotion of a positive and successful experience for University of Hartford student-athletes, coordinating academic support services as well as monitoring the academic progress in adherence to rules and regulations governing University, Conference of New England and the NCAA, including assisting in the education process extended to faculty, staff, alumni, donors and the community. Acts as administrative liaison for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.
Hiring Range The budgeted salary for this position will be $50,455 to $54,500

Key Responsibilities
- Utilizes and maintains institutional compliance software system, providing training to coaches, staff and administrators in an effort to ensure that employees are up-to-date on operating the systems and properly monitoring functional usage to review official/unofficial visits, CARA, complimentary tickets, recruiting activity, playing and practice logs, declaration of playing seasons, and roster management. Triages technical issues as necessary and/or appropriate.
- Coordinates, prepares and presents monthly compliance education training sessions on a full range of NCAA rules and regulations for coaches, administrators, student-athletes, regents, donors and booster groups. Collaborates with the Sr. Associate AD in gathering University-wide information for required NCAA reporting.
- Drafts, edits and submits legislative waiver requests, student-athlete applications and associated reports to the NCAA and the Conference of New England as necessary and/or appropriate.
- Assesses and reviews student-athlete records and academic standings during and at the completion of each term. Updates coaches and appropriate administrators on student-athletes' academic and degree progress. Reports issues that arise to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Services and the Head Coach.
- Coordinates initial and continuing eligibility for student-athletes including, but not limited to, receipt and submission of transfer releases and transcript evaluations. Updates coaches on the status of prospective and current student-athletes through the NCAA Eligibility Center. Assists coaches in the coordination of roster management as necessary and/or appropriate.
- Serves as a liaison to the Office of Admission and Student Financial Assistance, reporting potential incoming student-athletes to appropriate Athletics and Financial Aid staff regarding timelines for applicable compliance initiatives. Coordinates and submits NCAA and institutional financial aid requirements, monitoring for adherence to institutional and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Compiles and reviews data on current and prospective student-athletes. Prepares Academic Standing Reports pertaining to commencement, academic honors, Dean's List and others as necessary and/or appropriate.
- Maintains NCAA information on student-athletes in an on-line system in an effort to ensure the integrity of the database consistent with established data integrity standards.
- Serves as the administrative liaison to the Department's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Requires planning and attending SAAC meetings regularly.
- May provide sport administrative oversight to one or more of varsity programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
