Posting Title: Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations Overview:

Serve as an administrator within the Athletic Department with responsibilities for supervision and management of select staff and budgets, DuFour Center operations and facilities, student employment, and event management. Serve as on-site supervisor for the department in the absence of the athletic director or senior associate athletic Directors at select University events.

 

Perform services to support an active, student-oriented campus environment while complying with national, local, university, NCAA, and conference laws, regulations, standards, and codes.

 

The projected salary range for this position, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation

is:$70,000 to $78,000

Responsibilities:
  • Event Management: Serve (or designate/train someone to serve) as on-site manager for all home athletic contests and events.
  • DuFour Center Management: Ensure that there is proper staffing and appropriate operational procedures for the DuFour Center throughout the year.
  • Scheduling: Maintain a master schedule for the Athletic Department, including home contests, practices, intramurals, club sports, recreational activities, and outside groups.
  • Grounds and Maintenance Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison to facilities/grounds personnel regarding the timely care and maintenance of CUA athletic facilities.
  • Staff Supervision: Serve as sport supervisor for a select team(s), supervise the Director of facilities and operations, and the ops graduate assistant. Attend team compliance meetings, provide annual performance appraisals to head coaches, travel with teams when appropriate, and monitor sport budgets.
  • Budget oversight: Work collaboratively with the athletic director and business manager on department budget matters, including tracking spending, procurement of goods and services, and annual projections for future needs.
  • Capital Project assistance: Support and work with the Athletics Director, Facilities and Maintenance Department, and various contractors on capital projects as they are designed, constructed and opened.
  • Student Employment Supervision: Allocate work-study funding to area supervisors and ensure that all supervisors are properly trained regarding time keeping and tracking procedures for student employment.
  • Outside Groups: Work collaboratively with Business Manager and other campus offices as necessary to ensure that appropriate procedures are followed for the scheduling of outside groups within the DuFour Center and outer fields.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with national, local, university, NCAA, Landmark, and conference laws, regulations, standards, and codes (Note: The violation of NCAA and conference rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination).
Qualifications:

Formal Education:

Bachelor's degree, with a minimum of three (3) years of practical experience in athletics facility operations and management; and/or an understanding of the intercollegiate athletics landscape and its operational responsibilities. Familiarity with building projects and facility upkeep efforts is strongly preferred.
