Description Benefits Job Summary The University of Louisiana Monroe invites applications for a full-time 12-month tenure-track faculty position in the developing DPT program. The Assistant or Associate Professor holds a faculty appointment and has administrative, academic, service, and scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program.
Duties and Responsibilities Developing, monitoring, and refining the neuromuscular, geriatric, pediatric, professional development, sex, gender, or gender expression based, or practice management components of the curriculum Facilitating quality learning experiences for students Evaluating students performance, in cooperation with other faculty, to determine their ability to integrate didactic and clinical learning experiences and to progress within the curriculum Conducting research in their area of expertise Providing service to the DPT Program, Department, College, University, and/or the Profession
Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited physical therapist professional program or deemed equivalent non-accredited program Earned clinical doctoral degree in physical therapy or an earned academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state where employed Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed physical therapist Minimum of at least one year of clinical teaching or clinical coordination experience Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology (e.g., word processing, e-mail, database) or proven ability to learn these skills Able to work with students with special needs based on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Design and conduct independent and/or collaborative research in clinical education or related areas
Preferred Qualification or Requirements Neuromuscular, Pediatric, Geriatric, or Sex, Gender, or Gender Expression Content Expertise Holds a nationally recognized certification for advanced clinical practice through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties or other institution
