ABOUT THIS POSITION
Summary:
The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at Colorado Mesa University invites applications for two full-time, 12-month, open-rank tenure-track core faculty positions. Positions are available immediately, however start date is flexible. We are seeking collaborative faculty who are excited to contribute to student success, and advance scholarship within a supportive academic environment. Applicants with expertise in basic sciences or clinical physical therapy practice areas are encouraged to apply.
The DPT Program graduated its first class in May (100% graduation rate) with the inaugural cohort achieving a 100% first time pass rate on the April NPTE. The program was also recently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
The program admits one cohort annually (24 students), allowing for strong faculty-student engagement and mentorship. The program is located in the St. Mary's Medical Education Center, an interdisciplinary health sciences facility on the main campus in Grand Junction. The facility houses graduate programs in Occupational Therapy and Physician Assistant Studies, creating robust opportunities for interprofessional education and collaboration. Colorado Mesa University also offers graduate programs in Athletic Training, Nursing, and Social Work, contributing to a growing health sciences community.

Salary:
Assistant rank up to $106,500 and Associate rank up to $118,00

Minimum Qualifications Required:
Terminal academic degree (PhD, EdD, DSc, or related).
ABD candidates demonstrating progress toward completion may be considered.
DPT candidates with demonstrated research activity may also be considered.
Demonstrated content expertise in proposed teaching areas.
Evidence of effective teaching or potential for excellence in teaching.
Demonstrated or emerging scholarly agenda consistent with Boyer's model of scholarship.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, organize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
Ability to effectively utilize instructional technologies such as Brightspace (D2L), Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
