The Department of Chemistry, Physics, and Atmospheric Sciences (CPAS) at Jackson State University, within the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Experimental Biochemistry and related fields.
Examples of Duties
Successful candidates as expected to establish and sustain a vibrant, externally funded research program, serve as effective teachers and mentors at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute to the department, the university, and the profession.
Applicants at the Assistant/Associate Professor level must demonstrate a promising research agenda and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate student education and success.
The anticipated start date is January 1, 2025.

Typical Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Chemistry and postdoctoral research experience are required.
We are particularly interested in candidates who will support and enhance our mission to provide students with opportunities to pursue research careers in biochemistry and related disciplines.
While preference will be given to applicants with expertise in experimental biochemistry, we also welcome candidates from other areas of chemistry, including biomedical, biochemical, analytical, computational, and inorganic chemistry.
