Job Description:
The Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Virginia Tech seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in accounting and information systems, and to contribute to the departments research and service activities.
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in accounting and information systems
- Develop and maintain a research agenda that contributes to the field of accounting and information systems
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present research at conferences
- Participate in departmental and university service activities
- Advise undergraduate and graduate students
Requirements:
- Earned Ph.D. in Accounting and Information Systems or a related field
- Strong teaching and research background in accounting and information systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Familiarity with industry and current trends in accounting and information systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching and research in accounting and information systems
- Familiarity with industry and current trends in accounting and information systems
- Experience in developing and teaching online courses
- Experience in advising undergraduate and graduate students
