The division offers an exciting array of training opportunities in Nephrology including enhanced training in transplantation dialysis quality improvement and patient safety.Duties for this faculty appointment in IM-Nephrology will include contributing to the clinicalpatient care research and teaching missions of the division. Final faculty ranktitle will be commensurate with experience.Essential Functions This individual will contribute to the clinicalpatient care research and teaching missions of the division and will include both transplant and general nephrology practice.Clinicalpatient care responsibilities will include both transplant and general nephrology practice.Encompass an active role in departmental fellowship programs resident and medical student teaching.Precepting of fellows medical students andor residents in an office-based practice as well as providing lectures or leading small group discussions as part of the COM or residency curriculum clinical case conferences core curricula and journal clubs.Establish and sustain a nationally competitive research program in kidney disease basic translational clinical or population science with primary responsibility for securing extramural funding e.g. NIH VA foundations.Produce high-impact peer-reviewed publications as senior or corresponding author present research at national and international scientific meetings and contribute to the intellectual leadership of the field.Actively collaborate with multidisciplinary investigators across nephrology transplantation and related scientific domains to translate discoveries into clinical impact.Provide limited but meaningful inpatient andor outpatient nephrology care aligned with research interests maintaining clinical excellence while protecting substantial research effort.Mentor trainees and junior faculty in research and career development participate in graduate and medical education and contribute to academic service consistent with a research-intensive appointment.Minimum Requirements MD or equivalent medical degree and PhD in Nephrology or related degree.Ohio medical license.Completion of three-year Internal Medicine residency.Completion of two-year nephrology fellowship program.Physical RequirementsWork Environment Office environmentno specific unusual physical or environmental demands.Compensation and BenefitsUC offers an exceptional benefits package designed to support your well-being financial security and work-life balance.
