Title: Assistant/Associate Full Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine

Position Summary

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine IUSM in conjunction with IU Health Medical Group IUHMG are expanding its team. The department is seeking to jointly recruit an experienced surgical pathologist subspecialized in Gastrointestinal pathology to join its faculty. Additional areas of experience or subspecialties are welcome. The individuals selected will be based at the IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory IUHPL. The Pathology team serves 10 hospitals within the IU Health Hospital network and Eskenazi Health. Anatomic pathology is currently comprised of 55 pathologists with this expansion plan adding additional subspecialized pathologists. The academic track and rank of the appointment will be determined by qualifications and level of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional diagnostic services within anatomic pathology
  • Provide on-call coverage and conference support with department faculty members
  • Actively participate in educational activities with medical students, residents, and fellows

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate or Terminal degree is required.
  • The applicant must be certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic pathology or anatomic and clinical pathology.
  • Applicants must be qualified for licensure in the state of Indiana.
  • Is fellowship trained and has at least five years of post-fellowship experience.
  • Is academically oriented.
  • Is committed to teaching.
  • Has subspecialty expertise in GI pathology, additional areas of experience are welcome.
