Job Summary
The University of Mary Washington, an NCAA Division III institution located in Fredericksburg, VA, seeks applicants for an Assistant Athletic Trainer position. The University is part of the state system of Virginia and enrolls approximately 5,000 total students. Fredericksburg is a vibrant and historic city located just off Interstate 95, halfway between Washington, DC, and Richmond, VA. This is a full-time, eleven-month position reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer. The assistant athletic trainer will be responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, referral, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses sustained by student-athletes. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

Competencies Qualifications Basic computer skills Ability to provide acute and emergency care Ability to create therapeutic interventions Ability to perform needed administrative tasks in an electronic medical records system Ability to provide patient-centered care Ability to communicate effectively with staff, coaches, and student-athletes Ability to work as part of a team-centered environment
Required Experience 1-3 years in an athletic training setting Required Licensure BOC Certification and CPRAED First Aid for the healthcare professional Must be eligible for state license through the VA Board of Medicine
Additional Considerations KSAs CSCS Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist CPRAED Instructor Working knowledge of Division III Athletics
EDUCATION Bachelors degree in Athletic Training from a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accredited program Masters degree in associated field Experience 3-6 years of experience in a college or secondary school setting
