Teresian House Nursing Home, a 300 bed, mission driven skilled nursing facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, is seeking an Assistant Administrator with a focus on Clinical Operations and Risk Management, to join our leadership team.

This position is designed an emerging healthcare leader who is passionate about resident care, quality outcomes, regulatory excellence, and operational leadership.  Working closely with the Administration, Director of Nursing, and interdisciplinary leadership team, the successful candidate will help oversee clinical operations, quality improvement initiatives, risk management, activities, survey readiness, and regulatory compliance efforts.

This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and mentorship while preparing for future leadership opportunities in long term care administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support oversight of clinical operations in collaboration with nursing and interdisciplinary leadership.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the facility's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, including performance improvement initiatives, data analysis, committee activities, regulatory reporting, and follow through on corrective action plans in collaboration with department leadership.
  • Support the facility's risk management program through incident review, trend analysis, risk reduction initiatives, and implementation of corrective actions designed to promote resident safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Support regulatory compliance and survey readiness initiatives.
  • Conduct routine leadership rounds, operational audits, and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Participate in policy development, staff education, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to promote resident safety, quality care, and operational excellence.
  • Support infection prevention, resident safety, and clinical quality initiatives.
  • Serve as a member of the administrative leadership team and act on behalf of the Administrator as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in New York State or Demonstrated commitment to pursuing eligibility for the New York State Administrator in Training (AIT) Program and eventual Nursing Home Administrator licensure.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) preferred.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with demonstrated leadership experience will be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree required or actively pursuing completion of a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in long term care, skilled nursing, healthcare administration, quality improvement, compliance, risk management, or clinical leadership required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead interdisciplinary initiatives and foster a culture of accountability, quality, and resident centered care.
