Job Summary
Enhance the academic success of the student athletes, personal development, leadership abilities, community service and career development.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for reporting information on student-athlete progress to coaches and the athletics administration.
- Assist in monitoring academic success for student-athletes
- Facilitates meeting and provide statistical reports to coaches and athletics administration of each teams academic progress
- Assist with the completion of various correspondence as it relates to the student-athletes
- Plans, coordinates, and executes all special events housed within the student- athlete enhancement unit (i.e. welcome back activity, athletic banquet, honors breakfast/diner, etc.)
- Must be committed to maintaining compliance with NCAA and SWAC rules and regulations
- Works directly with the supervisor on strategy and goals for academic services
- Develops and facilities workshops on key topics of leadership development to help student-athletes grow leadership skills on and off the playing surface
- Oversees the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
- Any other duties assigned by the VP of Intercollegiate Athletics
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree is required
- Two to Five years of experience
- Effective written/oral communication
- Must be able to use Team Works, INFLCR, social media and other forms of communication
- Must be computer literate
- Sound judgment and maturity
Preferred:
- Masters Degree
- Previous experience in intercollegiate athletics academics
