General Summary:

This position analyzes, prioritizes and ensures accuracy of service orders and trouble tickets prior to being dispatched and/or programmed. This position is also responsible for any programming changes in the switch or associated equipment for all lines of businesses.

This position is AWL and FRW eligible after completion of training.

The normal hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional after hours, weekend and holidays with a required On-Call shift that will run in one week increments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Analyzes, prioritizes and ensures the accuracy of 911 addresses, service orders, plant records and trouble tickets prior to being dispatched and/or programming changes.
  • Responsible for programming in all applicable equipment and or programs ahead of the scheduled field work and provide support to internal technicians/customers.
  • Maintains accurate internal and external customer records to meet company standards.
  • Monitors NISC Switch Talk alerts and correct errors in a timely manner.
  • Configures, provisions, troubleshoots broadband and associated equipment to ensure the integrity of the network.
  • Interacts in a professional and courteous manner with other departments to ensure company customer service standards are met.
  • Responds to after hour emergency call out via rotating on call schedule.
  • Commits to performing job tasks in a manner that ensures a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrates commitment to Pioneer's strategic plan by aligning daily work, decisions, and behaviors with organizational goals, values, and long‑term objectives, while promoting Operation IDEA initiatives, supporting continual process improvement, and fostering employee engagement to deliver positive and memorable customer experiences.
  • Willingly and cooperatively performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One-year related experience and/or training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of multiple internal applications such as NISC Service, NISC Scheduler, M4 Standard Console, M4 Web Console 2, ANTX, Calix Support Cloud, CMS, Intrado V911, AT&T 911 PSP, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Telco switches such as C15, C20, Ossgate, Gateway controller and associated equipment.
  • Skill in analyzing and resolving information necessary to complete technical functions such as installing or troubleshooting landline services.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions using information at hand.
  • Skill in reading and analyzing cable records, staking sheets, specifications, and Pioneer maps.
  • Knowledge of company products/services, policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in operating a personal computer and software applications pertaining to job function.
  • Skill in problem solving and resolution.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and work on multiple projects.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, perform under stress and achieve optimum results.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to pay close attention to detail.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines in accordance with company policy.
  • Ability to read and interpret various formats of English language instruction.
  • Able and willing to be on call and work extended hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrates dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules.
  • Ability to effectively function as a team player and project a positive attitude.
  • Able and willing to continue skill development by attending training away from home for an extended time frame.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity including close vision.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • May be required occasionally to stoop, kneel or bend.
