Do you have a passion for data quality and a sharp eye for anomalies in complex financial datasets? Are you driven to continually improve policy, processes and systems that preserve data integrity? Then our Strategy & Transformation team offers you an outstanding platform to apply your real estate data expertise in a high-impact stewardship role at a leading global investment management firm.

About the role

The Asset Domain Data Manager is a new data steward role created to uphold the integrity and reliability of asset data across CBRE Investment Management's global platform. Asset data underpins every dimension of what we do from investment decision-making and active asset management to performance monitoring and client reporting. In this role you will be at the forefront of eliminating data risks and managing data operations to ensure our investment professionals and clients can rely on accurate, complete, consistent and well-governed asset data.

Working at the intersection of investment operations, data governance and technology and in support of the Asset Domain Data Trustee and sub domain trustees, you will own second-line data quality analysis, root cause investigation and the design of controls, rules and remediation measures.

What You'll Do

  • Review overnight data quality dashboards and exception reports, triaging open Asset DQIs, reaching out to business data stewards to resolve issues and escalating systemic problems to the Data Trustee
  • Profile a complex asset data sample, investigating anomalies in financial performance metrics, conducting root cause analysis and documenting findings and recommended controls
  • Author or update data quality rules and definitions in the data governance tooling, ensuring rules are clearly documented with business rationale, ownership and expected outcomes
  • Facilitate a working session with investment or finance colleagues to align on a data definition discrepancy, driving agreement on standard attribute definitions, acceptable values and ownership accountability
  • Engage a business stakeholder on an open compliance gap, and communicating the issue clearly, understanding the operational context and agreeing a practical and time-bound remediation plan
  • Participate in Domain Data Council meeting, presenting a structured update on asset domain data quality trends, open DQIs and active continuously improvement programs
  • Collaborate with Digital & Technology on requirements for a new data product or integration involving asset data, providing domain expertise on data structures, quality standards and business logic
  • Identify an opportunity to enhance first-line data quality monitoring through an automated rule or agentic workflow, and document the business case for the Data Council
  • Contribute to training or guidance materials for business data stewards on asset data standards, governance expectations and how to use data quality tooling effectively

What You'll Need

  • At least five years of hands-on experience with asset data in real estate investment management, a REIT, commercial real estate service provider with strong familiarity with the data structures, terminology and complexity inherent in real assets private equity
  • You have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent professional experience, in Data Science/ Analytics, Finance, Real Estate, Technology or a related field; a data governance or data management certification (e.g. CDMP, DCAM, OSCRE) is advantageous
  • You are aware of the regulatory environment relevant to investment management data - including fiduciary duties and the implications of FCA, SEC or AIFMD requirements for data integrity and reporting
  • You have strong analytical and investigative skills and can profile large, complex datasets, identify root causes of data quality issues and design practical, sustainable controls and remediation approaches
  • You are skilled in data programming languages (eg. SQL, Python, R) and related tools and applications
  • You build positive and productive relationships with stakeholders across investment, finance and technology functions, are assertive and clear when raising compliance gaps but collaborative and solutions-focused in how you resolve them
  • You work in a systematic and precise manner, are comfortable managing multiple open issues concurrently and take personal accountability for the quality and accuracy of your outputs
  • You are intellectually curious about data, technology and investment management operations, and have an appetite to develop your skills in areas such as data engineering, AI-assisted quality monitoring or agentic automation
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
