We seek people who are passionate about leading and collaborating on innovative clean energy initiatives.Responsibilities Manage professional employees and/or supervisors and be accountable for the performance and results of a team.Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.Make decisions guided by policies, resources, and the business plan; receive moderate guidance from the manager.Provide subject matter guidance to employees, colleagues, and/or customers.Key Responsibilities Accounting/Finance Management: manage a team of accounting and/or finance professionals responsible for general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements; provide technical management to ensure objectives are met and standards are followed; oversee accounting transactions and ensure integrity of internal controls and records in accordance with GAAP, regulatory accounting, and company policies.Financial Management: monitor expenditures, ensure targets are met, analyze variances from budget, and assist in defining and operating effective financial controls and decision making.Resourcing: oversee resourcing decisions and planning for the team; partner with HR on job definition, recruitment, evaluation, and selection processes.Professional Development: identify development needs, create development plans, monitor progress, provide coaching and mentoring, and conduct annual performance reviews.Education/Experience/Certifications Education: Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field or equivalent experience.Experience: Prefer eight or more years in related field.Certifications, Licenses and Training: CPA is preferred for certain roles.Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) Functional CompetenciesAdvanced knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP and regulatory accounting) and related disciplines; experience with tax is a plus.Advanced knowledge of internal controls, including SOX requirements.Advanced knowledge of accounting policies and procedures.Advanced knowledge of related financial systems.Advanced knowledge of relevant utility industry operations and financial regulations.General CompetenciesIntermediate knowledge of enterprise/business awareness.Advanced decision-making, written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Leader PracticesDrives ResultsPlans and AlignsDecision QualityDrives EngagementCouragePhysical and Cognitive Demands Roles require the ability to work with complex information, adhere to deadlines, and interact effectively within a team.
