The Position
Incumbent works under the direction of the Assessor/Register of Deeds or designee, performing a variety of clerical and technical duties using CAMA (Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal) and IMS software.
Essential Functions
- Utilize software to type, transcribe, revise, store, print, retrieve and record correspondence, statistical data, reports, forms and other documents and information.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with clients, supervisors, County employees, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement, judges, other agencies, and the public.
- Comply with Civil Service policies and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, County policies, department policies and laws to create a cooperative, safe, respectful and quality work environment.
- Proofread, edit, correct and verify all data, ensuring accuracy of computer files.
- Record data for real estate and/or personal property.
- Respond to inquiries from the public, in-person, by telephone, or email, to provide information and referral.
- File/retrieve correspondence, reports, and other materials.
- Ensure uniform storage and easy access to previously recorded information.
- Coordinate and monitor activities with other staff.
- Assist the public when filing applications/forms (e.g. homestead exemption, permissive applications, personal property, etc.).
- Report to work with regular, consistent attendance.
- Perform other duties assigned and directed.
Education and Work Experience and Other Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.*
- Two (2) years of clerical experience required.*
- Completion of a pre-employment criminal record check and conditional offer drug screen required.
- *Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted for requirements on a year-for-year basis.

- Work is generally performed an office setting. Noise level is usually moderate. - Required sensory abilities include vision, hearing, and touch. Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear within normal ranges. Incumbent must possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment.
