We’re seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join the City Assessor’s Office as the Assessment Business Systems Manager. This position plays a vital role in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the administrative and data management functions that support equitable property assessment and informed city decision-making. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about public service, innovation, and using data as a valuable community resource. The Assessment Business Systems Manager will lead initiatives involving long-range strategic planning, policy development, and modern data management practices that support the social, environmental, and economic needs of the community. Working under the limited supervision of the City Assessor, this position will help shape the future of the office by driving improvements in how property data is managed, analyzed, and utilized across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a forward-looking approach to business systems and public sector data management.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with experience training, mentoring, and supporting staff.
- Experience managing complex business systems, databases, or assessment/property data with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to oversee office operations, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, and administrative functions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and statutory deadlines.
- Strong customer service and communication skills when working with the public, staff, and external agencies.
- Strategic and analytical mindset with experience improving processes, developing policies, and supporting data-driven decision-making.
