Large Power Systems Division (LPSD)

We design and manufacture the most comprehensive lineup of large diesel and natural gas engines in the industry, as well as engine components and powertrains.

Role Definition:

Are you looking for an opportunity to learn a specialized skill within a manufacturing environment? As an Assembly and Test Specialist, you will continuously improve process efficiency by performing routine assembly and test of assemblies of our prime product. Training is paid and held during 1st shift hours for 4-6 weeks at the facility.

What You Will Do (including but not limited to):

  • Assembling / testing, reworking and repairing machine components.
  • Operate test machines to test final drive assemblies.
  • Prepare prime products and attachments for shipping.
  • Performs required salvage operations in assembly areas as necessary.
  • Disassemble and reassemble complex assemblies to repair or replace damages component parts.
  • May operate remote control crane to specially equipped vehicles to transport prime product.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • A mechanical background or industrial assembly experiences.
  • Good communication skills and strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
  • Ability to work overtime when required, including weekends.
  • Caterpillar will train applicants who have a strong employment history and work ethic.

  • Ability to perform simple computer operations.
  • Excellent attitude and willingness to learn.

Additional Information:

  • 2nd shift: Monday - Friday 2:30PM - 10:30PM.
  • 3rd shift: Monday - Friday 10:30PM - 6:30AM.
  • Starting pay is $23.22 per hour.
  • $1.00 an hour night shift premium.
  • This is a supplemental position - minimum 40 hours per week with limited benefits available.
  • Relocation is not offered for this position.
  • This position requires no travel.
