Summary

The Assembly Technician is responsible for the fabrication, assembly and basic electrical wiring of refrigerated product and equipment while ensuring production objectives are achieved at the lowest cost consistent with the Company's high-quality standards.

Essential Job Functions

  • Read and assemble from blue prints, general construction drawings, sketches or other specifications with proficiency and minimal direction. Assembly includes basic electrical wiring.
  • Set up and operate a variety of machines and hand tools related to the assembly of refrigerated product and equipment.
  • Set up and execute high quality copper brazed connections.
  • Follow work instructions for assembly, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in testing and troubleshooting to ensure equipment is performing properly prior to shipping.
  • Inspect work performed by others and accurately complete the inspection paperwork.
  • Maintain good documentation practices.
  • Facilitate and promote safe and clean working conditions.
  • Assist production team in identifying and resolving quality issues as needed.
  • Proactively look for, and execute on, opportunities to continuously improve the fabrication, assembly and manufacturing process.
  • Follow and maintain Kanban system.
  • Handle material using proper lifting devices.
  • Identify preventative safety opportunities.
  • Attend huddles and contribute to open book management.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
  • Overtime is a condition of employment and may be required from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies)

  • Understanding of manufacturing tools and their proper use.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow blue prints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Strong Brazing skills
  • Knowledge of Kanban systems

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • One (1) year manufacturing, brazing and/or refrigeration equipment experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of refrigerated product and equipment assembly is preferred.

Base Compensation Range: $23.75 - 26.91 per hour

Shift Differential: $2.00 per hour

Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 12% of gross annual salary base on company performance.
