Assembly Technican

Kolstad is seeking a skilled and reliable Assembly Technician to join our production and installation team in Blaine, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and upfitting commercial truck bodies and specialized equipment. Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and install commercial truck bodies, trailers, and specialized equipment onto vehicle chassis according to specifications.
• Align, fit, and secure panels, structural frames, and custom components.
• Perform welding, cutting, and metal fabrication as needed for heavy-duty installations and custom upfits.
• Prepare components for assembly, including surface prep and touch-up painting of newly installed areas.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, strictly adhering to all company safety policies and AWAIR programs.
• Expertly mount, install, and calibrate hydraulic liftgates, side gates, and custom mounting hardware.
• Accurately document all assembly work performed and parts used.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in mechanical assembly, commercial truck upfitting, manufacturing, or metal fabrication.
• Proficiency in welding (e.g., MIG/TIG) and operating standard assembly and shop power tools considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and the physical ability to perform heavy-duty shop tasks.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
