Assembly Operator

As an Assembly Operator, you will work as part of a collaborative assembly team to build high-quality electronic products, including printed circuit boards (PCBs), cameras, flex assemblies, and other sensitive electrical systems. You will use gauges, calipers, solderingirons, and other hand tools to assemble small, complex mechanical and electronic components with a strong focus on cleanliness, precision, and reliability. You will also work with software tools to upload and configure applications on smartphones that serve as controllers for viewing and operatingthe finished systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble small, complex mechanical and electronic components using hand tools, gauges, calipers, soldering irons, and other precision equipment.
  • Build printed circuit boards (PCBs), cameras, flex assemblies, and other sensitive electrical systems while ensuring there is no dust, debris, or contamination present.
  • Follow detailed assembly documentation, work instructions, and schematics with consistency and accuracy to meet production and quality standards.
  • Execute verbal and written instructions from technicians and engineers and clarify requirements as needed to ensure correct assembly.
  • Perform soldering tasks on electronic components or learn and apply soldering techniques under guidance when required.
  • Execute tests using specialized fixtures and equipment to verify the performance and functionality of assembled products.
  • Troubleshoot and rework electronics and complex mechanical assemblies to resolve issues identified during testing or inspection.
  • Operate precision measuring equipment to verify dimensions, tolerances, and alignment of assembled components.
  • Upload and configure software on smartphones and related devices that function as controllers for viewing and operating the assembled systems.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and dust-free workstations and production areas to protect sensitive electronics and ensure consistent quality.
  • Collaborate closely with other assembly team members, technicians, and engineers to meet production schedules and resolve technical issues.
  • Communicate ideas, issues, and problems clearly and promptly to technicians and engineers to support continuous improvement.
  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI) activities when needed, supporting the build, test, and refinement of new hardware products.
  • Support assembly repair, testing, and troubleshooting activities to extend product life and improve reliability.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational procedures while working overtime on weekdays and Saturdays when required.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in assembling small, complex mechanical components with high attention to detail.
  • Experience working in electronics manufacturing or an IT or manufacturing background.
  • Hands-on experience building hardware products, particularly involving electronics and PCBs.
  • Ability to use gauges, calipers, soldering irons, and other hand tools in a production environment.
  • Experience with soldering or a strong willingness and ability to learn soldering techniques.
  • Prior manufacturing experience working with circuit boards, cameras, flex assemblies, or other sensitive electrical systems.
  • Ability to follow assembly documentation and execute verbal and written instructions accurately and consistently.
  • Capability to execute tests using specialized fixtures and equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and reworking electronics or other complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to operate precision measuring equipment to verify quality and conformance.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey ideas, issues, and problems to technicians and engineers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to maintain clean and orderly workstations and production areas, especially for sensitive electronic assemblies.
  • Trainable, coachable, and reliable work style with openness to feedback.
  • Interest and passion for world-class drone manufacturing and advanced hardware products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as an assembly or production associate in an electronics or hardware manufacturing environment.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) production experience, including building and refining new hardware products.
  • Experience with assembly repair, test, and troubleshooting of circuit boards and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Hands-on experience with circuit board assembly, circuit testing, and electromechanical assembly.
  • Familiarity with assembly line environments and production workflows.
  • Experience working with software tools to upload and configure applications on smartphones or similar devices used as controllers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a detail-oriented self-starter in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Work Environment

You will work in a leading drone manufacturing environment focused on autonomous flight and advanced aerial technology. The team combines expertise in artificial intelligence, hardware and software product development, and operational excellence to deliver intelligent drone solutions for a wide range of users, from enthusiasts to professionals. The role is based in a production setting where you will use hand tools, gauges, calipers, soldering irons, precision measuring equipment, and specialized test fixtures to assemble and verify electronic products. The environment requires strict cleanliness to protect sensitive electronics, including dust-free handling of PCBs and other components. Shifts operate Monday through Friday with a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a swing shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with mandatory overtime on weekdays and Saturdays as needed. You will work in a collaborative, team-based setting, building a fleet of highly advanced drones, and you are expected to maintain an organized workstation and follow all safety and quality procedures. Dress expectations align with a typical electronics manufacturing floor, emphasizing appropriate attire for working with tools, equipment, and sensitive electronic components.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
