Job Summary:
The Assembly Lead operates and maintains assembly stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, and units according to specifications and established manufacturing procedures. This role uses hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment to complete production activities while ensuring products meet quality and tolerance standards. The Assembly Lead supports daily workflow, assists with training and troubleshooting, and helps maintain efficient and safe operations within the assembly area.


Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Reads work instructions and assembles finished and machined parts into subassemblies and final products.
  • Performs assemblies ranging from small components to large industrial equipment.
  • Examines parts for supplier or customer damage requiring correction, including frames, fluid ends, and relate d components.
  • Hand finishes surfaces using scrapers and abrasive cloth to make corrections and adjust bore sizes.
  • Uses precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure quality compliance.
  • Checks alignments, bores, and fit-up prior to assembly to ensure proper build execution.
  • Builds various types of pumps and performs assembly and disassembly of pumps and fluid ends as required.
  • Serves as a technical expert for all assembly procedures and functions, providing training, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to team members.
  • Performs non-destructive testing (NDT), where applicable, in accordance with company work instructions.
  • Uses forklifts, overhead hoists, and cranes to safely move and position heavy components.
  • Assists with minor maintenance of equipment following proper lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Maintains equipment and work area in accordance with company cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
  • Follows all safety and quality management procedures at all times.
  • Maintains regular attendance and complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Works overtime as required, including potential nights and weekend shifts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and assembly experience with industrial equipment or similar products.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and assembly equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.
  • Ability to train and support less experienced team members.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Typically requires 3+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience assembling heavy industrial equipment, pumps, or similar products preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification may be required.


Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods of standing and bending required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
