Sparta Networking is supporting a leading construction and materials company in hiring an experienced Asphalt Plant Operator. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can operate, monitor, and maintain plant systems to ensure consistent production, quality control, and safe operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor asphalt plant controls to produce hot mix asphalt according to specifications
- Adjust plant settings to maintain proper material mix, temperature, and output levels
- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance on plant equipment
- Coordinate with plant personnel, truck drivers, and paving crews to ensure efficient operations
- Monitor material inventory levels and communicate supply needs
- Maintain production records and complete daily reports
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and all safety standards
Qualifications
- Experience operating an asphalt plant or working in a similar industrial environment
- Strong understanding of plant systems, controls, and production processes
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues
- Experience with plant automation systems preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights and weekends
Work Environment
- Physically demanding role, including climbing, lifting up to 60 lbs, and working at heights
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, heat, dust, noise, and heavy equipment
- Use of PPE required at all times
