Position Description

Asphalt Lab/Field Technician Responsibilities:

Familiarity with the DOT Standard Specifications, Standard Drawings, and QMS construction Manual
Performs basic laboratory testing for asphalt samples
Communicate with the project manager daily
Ability to use and understand tools of the trade
Must have basic math skills to compute quantities
Must obtain measurements and report progress
Performs on-site testing as needed
Responsible for driving a company vehicle to and from the client project
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management
Be self-motivated to meet individual goals and maintain accountability in a team environment
Complies with all applicable federal, state, and Local laws, regulations, ordinances, and to all company policies and procedures.
Must be able to work safely in an outside environment with exposure to hazards on construction sites

Asphalt Lab/Field Technician Qualifications:

1 Year Lab Experience, but will train the right person
High School Diploma or Equivalent
At least 18 years of age
A pre-employment drug screen is required
Must have a valid Driver's License

Job Benefits:

Wages starting at $18 an hour (increased based on experience)

Position Requirements

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand, walk, and sit
Ability to use hands to feel objects, tools, or controls
Ability to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Ability to communicate verbally
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

This position requires working outdoors and driving in extreme heat/cold and possibly rainy weather.
Work locations may be subject to high winds, heavy rain, or snow. As well as extremely high and low temperatures depending on the season.
