Job Title: Asbestos/Environmental Monitor
Job Duration: Temp Only thru approx. 12/1/26
Est. Pay Range: $30 to $35/hr on w2
Work Type: On Site
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri.
Work Hours: 7am – 4pm (approx) - no set hours, need to be there when the contractors are working

Overview/ Responsibilities:
Asbestos/Environmental Monitor:

A minimum of a (4) four-year degree in Environmental science, environmental engineering, or related environmental discipline.
A minimum of (2) two years of experience performing environmental field work and construction inspections.
4-hours of NYS Department of Environmental Conservation sponsored training in proper erosion and sediment control principles.
Familiarity with SWPPP inspections and producing SWPPP reports.
Experience with utility construction projects and applicable federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to the project.
Ability to coordinate with multiple parties and communicate clearly to the contractor.
Experience/Knowledge in spill reporting to regulatory agencies.
Experience inspecting all construction activities, including clearing, access road improvements and installation’s structure removals, replacement structure installations, wire-stringing, installation and maintenance of temporary erosion controls, work involving wetlands, streams, agricultural lands.
Experience working in and around water and environmental monitoring compliance with permit conditions.
Experience inspecting and managing all environmental protection requirements.
Current waste training (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act [RCRA] hazardous waste and United States Department of Transportation [DOT] hazardous materials).
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a NYSDOL certified Asbestos Project Monitor and Air Sampling Technician.
