Arts and Movement Department HeadLocationDrury High SchoolDescriptionThis is an internal posting for current NAPS faculty members. The following anticipated positions are stipended per the NATA contract and are for the school year only.Job Goal: To facilitate the Arts and Movement Department at Drury High School.Supervision: Reports to the Building Principal.Education, Work Experience, and Licensure: Required: Massachusetts certification in the relevant subject area or grade level content. Minimum of three years teaching experience. Preferred: Experience in an educational leadership role. Performance Responsibilities:Collaborates with the Principal and Director of Curriculum to ensure department alignment to school and district priorities and goals.Facilitates protocols during faculty meetings and collaboration times and/or early release time in collaboration with or as directed by the Principal or Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Promotes positive collaboration and communication among team members.Teaches classes as directed by the Principal (three classes per semester in addition to Crew and Flex). Assists in orientation of new staff members during the opening week of school, aligned to the school-based mentoring and induction program.Provides assistance to substitute teachers, including access to teaching resources.Serves as a member of the ILT (Instructional Leadership Team) and attends a minimum of one ILT meeting per month after school.Attends one full-day ILT meeting in the summer.Coordinates the distribution of resources and materials with the Arts and Movement department teachers, including procurement when needed.Collaborates with district leaders, including but not limited to the District Arts Coordinator and the Director of Professional Learning, to inform grant applications related to department needs and to report on grant implementation progress.Assist with Arts and Movement department events outside of the school day as needed.Performs any additional duties as assigned by the Principal.Physical Requirements: The position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs and step stool whenever necessary. Activities also include moderate physical exertion in body movement such as reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, pushing, and pulling of objects. The position requires lifting objects of 20 pounds on a frequent basis, and over 20 pounds occasionally. There is a frequent requirement of fine manipulation associated with the required use of a computer, typewriter, keyboard, calculator, and other business machines. Environmental Conditions: The occupant is required to work indoors. The regular chemical solvents are toners, inks, and cleaning fluids.
