Summary - An employee in this position comes under the direct supervision of the Principal of the School. An instructor in this position will be well versed in all aspects of Art Education.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
A minimum education of Bachelor's degree in Art education is required. Minimum of five years successful experience in the field or Art through previous employment or community activities.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have or be willing to work towards a Maryland State Department of Education Teaching Certificate with an Art endorsement.
Language Skills
Individual must be able to express themselves clearly in oral as well as written form to a diverse population.
Mathematical Skills
Must have basic arithmetic skills; must be able to calculate sales tax and discounts.
Reasoning Ability
Must be able to solve a variety of problems with limited information. Must be able to change the course of instruction in emergency situations that frequently occur.
Computer Skills
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Ability to creatively develop lesson plans is preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities
Must have thorough knowledge of various forms of art education, art projects and appropriate art tools.
Other Qualifications
Individual must enjoy making art projects and want to spark interest in the field of art with young children.
