Job Summary:
This position is for Art Teacher positions at Dr Charles c Polk Elementary School for the 2026/2027 school year.
Provide daily, engaging, standards-aligned Visual Arts instruction for students in Grades 14.
Design hands-on learning experiences utilizing diverse artistic mediums, materials, techniques, and processes.
Align instruction with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Visual and Performing Arts.
Develop cross-curricular and interdisciplinary projects that integrate Visual Arts with core content, STEAM, and cultural learning.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs while fostering creativity, artistic expression, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
Assess student learning and artistic growth using developmentally appropriate practices.
Create and maintain student artwork displays throughout the school building.
Support and participate in districtwide art shows, festivals, exhibitions, and Visual Arts initiatives.
Facilitate opportunities for students to display and submit artwork within the community and through county, state, and national exhibitions, contests, and competitions.
Collaborate with teachers, administration, and the District Supervisor of Visual and Performing Arts to support curriculum, arts integration, and district goals.
Maintain an organized, safe, inclusive art classroom and appropriately manage art supplies, materials, equipment, and inventory.
Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning as required.
Qualifications:
Valid New Jersey instructional certificate with the appropriate Visual Arts endorsement.
Knowledge of elementary Visual Arts instruction and the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Visual and Performing Arts.
Ability to provide engaging, differentiated instruction for diverse learners.
Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and classroom management skills.
Commitment to equitable access to high-quality Visual Arts education and the artistic growth of all students.
Stipend/Salary:
REA Salary Guide Range
BA: Step 1 $57,828.00- MA+30 Step OG1 $104,576.00
