Dates of Employment -- September 4-14, 2025, but may be called to work other events at the Fairpark.
Hours -- Vary
Pay Rate -- $15/hr
Reports to -- Ticketing Manager
Duties included but not limited to:
· Greet guests attending the arena events.
· Inform guests of the layout of the venue and be prepared to direct them to the designated seats/sections, restrooms, concession stands, etc.
· Settle seating disputes or help solve other guest concerns.
· Assist guests in finding seats, lighting the way with flashlights, if necessary.
· Partner with fellow ushers at the end of show to close the venue- this may include collecting recyclables from the seats, picking up and properly storing event equipment such as chairs, barricades, etc.
· Maintain order, ensure adherence to safety rules, and share any safety concerns with management.
· Guide guests to closest exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency.
· Provide excellent customer service to Fairgoers
· Promote a positive, fun experience that is a great representation of the Fair brand.
· Interact with guests, answer questions as needed
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, and loves interacting with the public.
· Possess excellent problem-solving skills
· Solid verbal communication skills
· Ability to perform and make decisions in a very fast paced, high stress environment.
· Able to work long hours, nights and weekends during the Fair.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation. These may include:
· Standing and walking for extended periods, including walking up and down stairs or ramps
· Escorting guests to their seats and moving through crowded areas
· Communicating clearly with guests in high-noise environments
· Visually monitoring crowd activity to assist with guest needs or safety issues
· Using hands and arms to point, signal, or assist patrons
· Occasionally lifting or moving objects such as folding chairs, barriers, or small signage (typically up to 25 lbs)
