About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Google Data Centers (GDC) maintains one of the world's most powerful computing infrastructures. To remain at the forefront of technical innovation, Google continually modernizes its fleet using an exceptional Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program. As a member of the Compliance, Security and Risk Management (CSRM) Construction EHS team, you will support the EHS construction and MARCUS retrofit programs, playing a critical role by collaborating with cross-functional teams and contractors to protect Google’s interests. This position is responsible for the design, development, and deployment of EHS initiatives across a defined area.

In this role, you will work with GDC partners, general contractors, trades, and commissioning agents to drive project performance. Your responsibilities include engaging in vendor pre-qualification, communicating EHS expectations, and overseeing program implementation with a focus on risk mitigation and on-time delivery. You will establish performance metrics and implement best practices, including lessons learned, to ensure the organization scales efficiently. By reporting regularly to stakeholders, you bridge the gap between high-level strategy and site-level safety to ensure Google’s infrastructure evolves securely and sustainably. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and ownership of the CSRM-EHS program for area construction oversight and data collection.
  • Ensure that contractors deliver on program safety performance expectations and contract requirements providing timely solutions to issues.
  • Monitor, advise and assist the construction project teams to protect people, environment and ensure compliance.
  • Drive an exceptional culture that embraces a continuous learning approach and aligns with organizational strategies including goals and objectives.
  • Liaise with the wider Construction and Data Center Operations (DCOps) EHS teams to ensure best practices are fully and completely implemented, progress reported, trends and data captured, analyzed and risks mitigated to an acceptable level ensuring that the operational capacity of a live data center is not compromised.
